LIMLL Week 5 Recap
Huntington, NY – Week 5 of the 2026 Long Island Metro Lacrosse Leagues regular season brought the playoff picture into sharper focus as teams continue to battle for positioning. With the regular season moving toward the final stretch, every game now carries added weight as teams fight to secure their place in the postseason.
The playoff format is clear: the top six teams in each division qualify for the playoffs, with the #1 and #2 seeds earning first-round byes. In the opening round, the #3 seed will play the #6 seed, while the #4 seed will play the #5 seed. From there, the #1 seed will face the lowest remaining seed, and the #2 seed will face the second-lowest remaining seed.
Tiebreakers will be based first sorted on points (PTS), followed by head-to-head (H2H), and then goals against (GA). Teams sitting near the cut line will need to finish strong, take care of divisional matchups, and limit goals against in case tiebreakers come into play.

Looking Ahead
Tiebreakers will either become a critical component for a team continuing their season or it may not be a factor at all. A single head-to-head result or a few goals against could be the difference between making the playoffs and missing out. Teams in the hunt for the final playoff spot must not only win games but also stay disciplined defensively and avoid giving away goals that could hurt them later. The final weeks of the regular-season will bring a playoff-level energy across every division down at Cantiague. With the top six advancing and the bracket format rewarding strong seeding, every team still in the race has something to play for — and every matchup from here on out could shape the road to the playoffs.
