Opening Night Energy Surrounds the 2026 LIMLL Season

Huntington, NY – The 47th season of the Long Island Metro Lacrosse Leagues kicks off the 2026 campaign this evening with the kind of excitement, anticipation, and competitive energy that has become a trademark of summer lacrosse on Long Island.

With 44 teams officially joining the league across four divisions, opening night sets the tone for what promises to be one of the most competitive and entertaining summers in league history. From returning programs with familiar names to new teams looking to make an immediate impact, the 2026 season begins with depth, personality, and plenty of storylines.

This year’s league is divided into four divisions: the Jones Beach Division, L.I. Sound Division, Montauk Division, and Orient Division. Each division brings its own identity, rivalries, and style of play, creating a season-long race that will carry from opening night through the final championship push.

Montauk Division

The Montauk Division features 11 returning teams ready to battle through the summer schedule:

Returning: Bethpage Boozers, Fellas LC, Honchos LC, The Gooners, Laxaholics, Nassau County Police Lacrosse Club, Pats Place, Silver Bullets, Sloths, and Wise Guys LC.

With a mix of veteran groups and competitive squads, the Montauk Division has the potential to be one of the most balanced divisions in the league. Every matchup will matter, and the first week will offer a glimpse of which teams are ready to separate themselves early.

Orient Division

The Orient Division enters the season as the largest division in the league with 12 teams:

Returning: Cheddar LC, Chick-fil-A, FDNY Lacrosse, El Dirt Stars, Krystal Lacrosse, The Pack, Popeyes Lax, Seahawks, Shuckin’ Oysters LC, and Tropics Lacrosse Club
Incoming: Lock Jaw Lacrosse, Pond Boys Lacrosse

This division brings together some of the most recognizable team names in the league, creating immediate intrigue from the first whistle. With 12 teams fighting for positioning, the Orient Division will demand consistency, depth, and strong performances week after week.

Jones Beach Division

The Jones Beach Division also features 11 teams and brings plenty of personality to the 2026 season. The division includes:

Returning: Fleasters (2025 Open Champions), Gabagoals Lacrosse, Pink Panthers LC, Shaft Grabbers LC (2025 Advanced Champions), Spartans Lax, Team 7-11 Lacrosse, TraStrong Lacrosse, and Wreck-it Ralphs LC
Incoming: 
Booze Bags LC, Mixed Nuts Lax, and The Pipeline

The Jones Beach Division will gave fans and players a look at a group filled with character and competitiveness. With several teams capable of making noise, the division race could become one of the league’s most entertaining throughout the summer.

L.I. Sound Division

The L.I. Sound Division rounds out the league with 10 teams:
Returning: Bullseye Beverage Lacrosse Team, , Goons LC, , Landsharks, Leaky Lifeboats, Mighty Mullets, Suffolk Sluggers, and West Conn
Incoming: Bulls, Geno Foundation, and Juicers LC

The L.I. Sound Division brings a strong mix of established teams and hungry challengers. With fewer teams than the other divisions, every game carries added weight, making early season results especially important in the race for playoff positioning.
