LIMLL Week 4 Recap

Huntington, NY – Week 4 of the 2026 Long Island Metro Lacrosse Leagues regular season delivered another highly competitive slate of games as teams push toward the postseason. With the schedule moving deeper into the summer, division races are beginning to tighten, playoff positioning is becoming increasingly important, and the margin for error continues to shrink.
Through four weeks of action, six teams remain undefeated (minimum of three games played), a reflection of the high level of play across the league. At the same time, this is the point of the season where teams must continue to push the pace and avoid falling into a mid-summer blues mode and preparation will become increasingly important during the stretch run.

Looking Ahead
Since the beginning of the 2021 season, The Island’s League has shown that a team does not necessarily need to dominate from opening night to make a championship run. Teams can find momentum late, put together a run at the right time, and carry that surge all the way to a divisional championship game.
That raises one of the most interesting questions: Does going undefeated really matter?
The 2025 season offered an important reminder that regular-season perfection does not guarantee postseason success. Of the three teams that finished the 2025 regular season undefeated — Bethpage Boozers, TRAstrong, and Spartans — only Bethpage Boozers advanced to the Intermediate Final, where they ultimately fell to Blue Dream LC. Can those teams maintain their momentum as the pressure rises, or will another team find its stride at the right time and make a late-season run?
